Sweating is a totally natural process through which the body controls heat. Some people suffer from excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis.

It can be a minor annoyance, but it can also be a serious condition, that can affect the quality of life, relationships and careers, as they are reluctant to share a hug, get close to other people and/or shake hands.

Localized hyperhidrosis of the armpits can be treated effectively using subcutaneous injections of botulinum toxin.

Botulinum toxin slows down the secretion of sweat for 6 to 12 months. Having an injection in spring is recommended in order to prevent excessive sweating during the hottest months of the year.

An alternative and longer reduction of sweat secretion can be obtained using microneedling RF treatment.

Hyperhidrosis can have multiple causes; it is therefore necessary to clarify whether there is a metabolic cause behind it (thyroid problems among other things).
